During your exam at Yager Family Dentistry, Dr. Yager or Dr. Wiedemann will carefully evaluate your teeth, gums, jaw, bite, and surrounding tissues. We look for signs of tooth decay, gum disease, infection, worn or cracked teeth, oral cancer, bite problems, and other changes that may affect your health or comfort.

When needed, we may use digital X-rays, intraoral photos, digital scanning, periodontal measurements, or other diagnostic tools to help us understand what is happening more clearly. Our goal is not just to find problems, but to explain what we see in a way that makes sense.

After your exam, we will review our findings with you, answer your questions, and recommend treatment thoughtfully and only when it supports your health, comfort, or long-term goals. If treatment is recommended, we will help you understand your options and develop a plan that fits your needs, goals, and long-term health.

For many patients, a dental exam every six months works well. Some patients may need to be seen more often, especially those with gum disease, frequent cavities, diabetes, dry mouth, a weakened immune system, tobacco use, or a history of more complex dental concerns.
